How can I get a UConn email account?
Huskymail is the University’s web-based email system. You can obtain your UConn email account by completing the New Student Technology Tutorial. Official UConn correspondence will be sent to you via this account. Be sure to access your email account on a regular basis. It is recommended that you do not forward your Huskymail to a personal email account.

Does the campus have an email or phone directory?

Where can I find a job on campus?
UConn employs more than 5,500 students each year in a variety of departments. Part-time jobs are a great way to supplement your education expenses, earn some extra cash or build your resume. On-campus jobs are usually posted immediately prior to the start of a semester. Visit the Student Employment website for more information about on-campus job opportunities.

How do I get my student ID card?
The Husky One Card is your UConn student ID. You will obtain your card at new student Orientation and it will be activated at the beginning of the semester. Your Husky One Card is also a debit card that can be used at University dining halls, laundry facilities, the campus bookstore and a variety of other locations. What is there to do on campus?
Our more than 350 clubs and organizations will provide you with co-curricular opportunities that are as varied as your interests. Campus life includes participation in everything from aerobics classes and the Debate team, to the Student Film Organization and the American Institute of Civil Engineers. The University’s intramural sports teams are also an excellent way to get exercise and meet new friends. UConn offers a variety of intramural sports with different leagues to fit all skill levels. Visit the Recreational Services' website for more information.

How do I get tickets for athletics events?
Tickets to UConn athletics events are available to students at a discounted price. Contact the Division of Athletics for more information. The Student Union Board of Governors also offers affordable transportation to off-campus home games.

Does UConn have exercise facilities?
Physical fitness is the foundation for good health. UConn’s Student Recreation Facility is a popular spot for many University students. Our gym is open seven days a week and includes fitness and weight rooms, a pool, a rock climbing wall, an indoor track and courts for a variety of sports including basketball, soccer, volleyball and racquetball.

I’m hungry! Where can I eat on campus?
UConn students enjoy buffet-style meals seven days a week in our campus dining centers, which are located in or nearby each residence hall. Your UConn ID card provides easy access. Our Student Union food court also offers a variety of dining choices that range from rotisserie meals to fast food options. Numerous cafes, fast food eateries and full-service restaurants are also located on, or within walking distance, of campus. The UConn Co-op and the Student Union have well-stocked, convenience stores.

Where can I study on campus?
Where you study will depend on your individual preferences. Some UConn students choose to study in the Universities’ libraries or in study lounges that are located throughout campus. UConn residence halls also have study areas and each room has individual study desks.

How do I get my Student ID number?
Your seven-digit Student ID number can be found on your UConn letter of admission. If you have misplaced or forgotten your ID number, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (860) 486-3137.

How do I get a NetID?
The New Student Technology Tutorial will highlight how to obtain your NetID, UConn email address and a variety of other helpful tools. Your NetID is created shortly after your are admitted to the University. You will use your NetID to complete the on-line housing application, to obtain your HuskyMail address, and to use other internet services.

How can I confirm that my UConn acceptance fee has been received?
Contact the Bursar’s Office at (860) 486-4830 to confirm that your $150 UConn acceptance fee has been received. New Student Orientation packets are mailed once the University receives your fee. Mailings begin in early April. UConn office hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
