Activities
UConn's more than 350 clubs and organizations will provide
you with extracurricular opportunities that are as varied
as your interests. Campus life includes participation in everything
from aerobics classes and the Debate team, to the Student
Film Organization and the American Institute of Civil Engineers.
Some students choose
to donate their time for various community service projects,
traveling to Louisiana to volunteer with hurricane relief projects or tutoring
youth in after-school programs. UConn’s cultural centers
are open to the entire University community, offering academic
and extracurricular programming that fosters diversity and
cultural understanding.
The University has dozens of intramural
sports teams and competitive sports clubs. Student activities also include more than 30 fraternities and sororities, and
a variety of student-run media, including print, radio and
television. As a UConn student you’ll also enjoy a well-rounded
exposure to the arts. We host a variety of productions including
plays by the Connecticut Repertory Theatre, opera performances,
comedy tours by Jon Stewart, Bill Cosby and Colin Mochrie,
and concerts by The All-American Rejects, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Peter Cincotti, Wynton Marsalis and others.
