Huskymania

UConn is filled with all-star players, recreational athletes and Husky fans. The term “Huskymania” heralds our athletic enthusiasm.

The University of Connecticut is home to a variety of Division I varsity sports. As a UConn student you’ll cheer on our 24 intercollegiate athletic programs, including basketball, football, soccer, ice hockey, baseball, field hockey, track and cross country, swimming and tennis. Many of our programs are perennially ranked among the top 10 in the nation, having captured seven NCAA championships in six years.

UConn also welcomes you to try out for our many outstanding athletic clubs. Some groups are purely for enjoyment, while others compete against universities across the country. Choices include the ski team, water polo, volleyball and martial arts.

Intramural sports are also available. Whether you were a star athlete in high school or a casual competitor, intramurals are a great way to exercise and meet members of the University community. We offer a variety of leagues to fit all skill levels. Pick your team and compete with fellow students throughout campus.
