Calculus Readiness Survey
If you are pursuing a degree program that requires first-year calculus, you must complete the Calculus Readiness Survey at least seven days prior to your Orientation session. You need to review the Technology Tutorial before completing this survey.
This Calculus Readiness Survey is used to determine which mathematics course is most appropriate for your first semester at UConn. Your survey results should reflect your efforts alone. Otherwise, you may end up registering for a course that is not suited to your ability.
Students admitted to the following academic areas should take the survey:
- Agriculture and Natural Resources
(Allied Health Sciences, Animal Science, Diagnostic Genetic Sciences, Dietetics, Environmental Science, Medical Technology, Natural Resources, and Pathobiology)
- Education (Math Education, Science Education, or Exercise Science)
- Engineering
- Liberal Arts and Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Coastal Studies, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, or Statistics)
- Nursing (Suggested)
- Pharmacy
You will know the results of your Calculus Readiness Survey immediately after completing the survey online. If you think that your results do not reflect your mathematical knowledge, you may take the survey a second time before your Orientation session. Plan at least one week of review before your second, and final, taking of the survey.
The Calculus Readiness Survey must reflect your efforts alone. If your placement results are not accurate, for any reason, you may end up registering in a course that is not suited to your ability.
Contact the Office of Undergraduate Education at (860) 486-2223 if you have technical difficulty accessing the Calculus Readiness Survey.
Contact your individual UConn School or College if you are not certain if you need to take the Survey.
