Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS) seeks to increase the enrollment, retention, and graduation of low-income, first-generation college students at the University of Connecticut. All students accepted into the SSS program must take part in a six-week pre-collegiate program for which they earn up to eight college credits. The skills taught and support provided during the summer are continued throughout each student's tenure at UConn. The program introduces students to the rigors of university life, helps them develop the discipline and skills required to succeed academically, provides academic services such as tutoring and peer mentoring, as well as providing staff that act as liaisons and advocates on the behalf of students.
